South Africa Day 2... Feb. 11th

 Hello!

Our second day in South Africa was very busy, but luckily Zayne let me sleep in a little bit! First thing, we had to run to Spar at the Atlas Mall to grab a few things we didn't bring with us. The one thing that is so very different over here is the cars- the driver sits on the wrong side and also drives on the wrong side of the road! Good thing Zayne is doing all the driving!

After our adventures to the store we went out for the day to see the area. First, we stopped by a store that Zayne use to work at- Trappers Trading. There was only one working he knew there, but it was still nice to just see where he worked! After seeing that store we went over to the East Rand Mall which is very similar to our malls in America, just no air conditioning... actually, the only air conditioning they have here is in the car! Anyway, we walked around the mall and stopped in a few of his favorites stores as well as we did lunch at a place called Wimpy which is what I would say is similar to Red Robin but much smaller and less food. We both ordered a wrap, Oupa ordered waffles with ice cream and Ouma had a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich. Zayne also had the famous cream soda float which is nothing like our cream soda! The food was very good, similar to our food, but we only paid $4 for our wraps! Another place we just stopped at quick was their flea market, but we will go back their again later this week!

When we got back to Ouma & Oupa's house they pulled out some old photos of the Van Heerden family and I got to get a good laugh at all the great photos!

We then went to Vanessa's house to see the kids after school and just to say hi! The weather is just so nice... it was 82 degrees and very sunny. I can tell you now I am not missing all that cold weather and snow. I will try and bring all the heat back with us! For dinner, we then went to Spur with Ouma, Oupa, Andre & Cecelia! This was our first time meeting Cecelia. Food was good, Zayne had steak and I had chicken!

When we were done with dinner, we dropped off Ouma & Oupa at home and ran out to see Zayne's friends Gideon & Maritza! We had a very nice visit with them, at their home! Then off to home for bed, which was much needed... we were both exhausted!

All together, a great day!
