Germany, day two...

Hello, from Germany again!

This day was awesome! We had our first nights sleep, which was wonderful for me! Zayne slept good as well but was up at 5am. First thing we did was have a amazing breakfast, it was a cooked egg (boiled), roll (which you put whatever you like on it, butter, liverwaurst, cheese, jam, ect..), and also some waffles with cherry on top!

After breakfast we got to hang around the house for a little while, just visiting and relaxing. Then Sandra took us on a tour of the village that she lives in- schlagsdorf. On our walk we met up with Ramon, a friend of Sandra's that I met in the USA in 2009. It is so awesome to see people I already know over here in Germany! Their village is about 800 people, and is very quiet and cute!! Once we met up with Ramon, he walked with to the lake and on the way to the lake we saw their bank (which is so small) and they have a museum in their town that tells you about the slip of Germany Also there is a place outside that shows the Wall that separated the east from the west! This was very interesting to see, they has a little information about it along with real life piece of the wall and the guard tower. The lake in their village was beautiful, peaceful place!

The cute sign they have by their front door.

After our walk we came back to their house and visited with Sandra! We then had a FANTASTIC lunch that Kerim made for us, hamburger schnitzel, which was a fried pork with an egg on top, with fried potatoes and chocolate pudding for dessert!

At about 4pm, we picked up Ramon from his house and went into Lübeck, this is a city about 20 minutes from schlagsdorf. When we arrived, we met up with one of their friends, Paul who then showed us around. Paul was originally from Lübeck an studies German and history at school so he was an excellent tour guide! In Lübeck we saw this famous landmark- The Hostentor Gate. We walked around in the city and saw all their shops and also their town hall. At the town hall square tree was a little market and people out ice skating! While we were walking around, we happened to stop in a chocolate store, and I got some gifts to bring home!

He also took us to a beer brewery, which was a restaurant and you could sit down in the actual cellar! It was a very authentic German place!

After we were at the brewery, we walked a couple more blocks to a billard room, where there is all pool tables! That was a lot of fun to play with them, even though my team never won, Zayne & Katja were the best, and on the same team! On the walk back to our car we stopped the grocery store and got some more little candies! When we got home we sat and watched TV and just visited with everyone! Sandra's friend Anne came over to visit with us and even her puppy Jacky! Then after some time talking and snacking, we were off too bed!

It is wonderful to be able to spend time with my German best friend, Sandra!! I love everything that I get to see and learn about their culture! Vacation is going great so far, but I do miss everyone from home... sending my love to you!
